‍The Neighbourhood Watch June 'Our News' enewsletter is out!

With the lockdown remaining fully in place in Wales and measures in England, altering, Neighbourhood Watch groups continue to support individuals and their communities to adapt, stay safe and manage the situation. We have been collecting stories of all the amazing work going on, several of which are in this newsletter.

We are fast approaching the annual Neighbourhood Watch Week, 7th - 13th June, and there is lots of information in this newsletter on how to get involved and get active in celebrating your neighbours. A resident contacted WNW recently wanting to share their experience with us and other residents, and to warn us all after they parked for a short while at the train station and shops car park in Polegate.

Several weeks ago the resident parked for around 15 minutes in the area adjacent to the co-op to pick up his wife and then drove out of the car park which is free to shoppers for ninety minutes. Several weeks later he received a letter from the car park management based in Liverpool demanding £100 for over staying also stating that this was not the first time they had contacted him, which was not true, the resident asked for proof and eventually the company backed down.

So be warned, if you park in this car park correctly and should receive a penalty demand don't pay it and suggest they take you to court. This is not the first time this type of action by the car park company has been reported to WNW.

We have been advised by a resident of a phone call she received from a cold caller purporting to be from a government backed loft insulation company who wanted to visit her and look in her loft, very wisely the resident declined the offer...So should you if contacted by this company, better to be safe than sorry.

Willingdon now has it’s very own dedicated PCSO’s they are, Liz McDonagh, Fluer Whitaker, and a well known face from the past Richie Davidson.
